Well, I'll tell you what I've done so far w/the potty training...
1. Austin is in underwear that he picked out, all day except naps and bedtime. when he can stay dry through naps I'll leave him in underwear, same with bedtime. Everything I've read so far talks about it confusing kids to go through the pull-ups, so I'm trying this out. the boxer briefs are my favorite. Sorry had to post a pic of his undies to show you how many we go through, which is a lot during the day!

2. Austin has potty breaks every hour or so, the timer is a g
reat idea, thanks Shannon! I've been thinking about that, but just haven't done it, and since Dennis will be home all day tues and weds with him, that is a great idea!
3. We made a "potty train" chart, he gets to put stars on each of the tracks when he sits on the potty, no matter if he goes or not, and when the train tracks are all filled, he gets to pick out a prize, I found these dinosaurs and safari animals at the dollar store, he'll love them. He asks when he gets his prize each time we're in the bathroom.

4. He gets "tinkle treats" when he goes tinkle, I think he's most excited about these...they're mini M&M's, he gets one for number 1, two for number 2...I'm cheap, sorry, dental hygienist!
5. I sit and cheer him on the whole time he's on the potty, sometimes run the water in the background to help...
6. High fives for staying dry!!
7. I ask him constantly if he needs to pee or poop, and then I ask if he's wet or dry.
So, the poop thing just is not coming...he has yet to do his duty on the potty. I've heard some kids master #2 first, but mine probably will not. I'm sure Ashlee that it will be a similar experience for Austin as it was for Bennett. I've been doing a lot of laundry.
Thanks guys, wish me luck!

Good luck! It sounds like you have it figured out. I hope he masters the poop really soon.

Hooray for you sticking to it! Some people just give up so fast. It will come, just don't stress and make it stressful for him. Your kids are getting so big and so cute!!!

You're doing AWESOME! I hate hate hate potty training. Mikey was "pee" trained for alomst a year before he was "poo" trained. Mailei just got it naturally. Maddy, ugh....she gets it but isn't overly intersted a lot of days. I just remind myslef that the day WILL come, and then I'll think where did the time go? just like with everything else, huh? Anyway, you're doin great, wanna train Maddy? Hee hee hee

Oh Yeah! You Go Momma! I'm impressed at how hard you are working at this- just remember- it "will" happen- and as Heather says- then you'll ask yourself where did the time go? Love ya Sweetie!

Mine all mastered #1 first. I wish my underwear was so fun:) I LOVED the timer method. Then it was the timer that said it was time to go and not mom. Worked for us. How is it going? Good luck!
